The MACC has arrested a deputy principal of the Kuala Kubu Bharu Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) for alleged abuse of power in awarding the contract to supply students' essential items to people she knew.

Also arrested were the 48-year-old woman's 24-year-old son and a company owner aged 40.

The trio was arrested between 4.30pm and 7pm today.

According to a source, the female suspect is believed to have abused her position by awarding the supply contract worth about RM79,000 via direct negotiations.

She is alleged to have committed the offence between the years 2016 and 2017.

"She was found to have awarded the supply job to her son via a company owned by his friend.

"All three are being probed under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009," said the source.

Meanwhile, Selangor MACC director Alias Salim confirmed the arrests and said all three suspects will be remanded tomorrow.

He added a probe was initiated against the suspects following a public tip-off.
