Reading Michael Wolff’s bestseller "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” during his month-long recuperation from tumour removal surgery, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang saw similarities between the US president and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"I did some reading and I mention one book, ‘Fire and Fury’," he told media during an interview in Johor Bahru.

According to Lim (photo), the book elaborates on how Trump used fake news to twist political reality.

"In Malaysia, Najib is playing Trump's role, by slamming fake news, and spreading fake news (himself)," he said.

"I think Najib is very much Trump-ish in this aspect, and the whole thing is about political control," he said.

The book, written by US journalist Michael Wolff (photo), details the behaviour of Trump and his staff during the 2016 presidential campaign and his time in the White House, and sold 1.7 million copies worldwide after its early release this month.

The author claimed he was allowed access to White House by Trump himself in June 2016 and conducted 200 interviews with Trump and his staff.

Taking to Twitter, Trump had rubbished the content of the books and labeled it as "fake."
