Corporate royalty wed - Naza, Berjaya heirs say 'I do'

The heirs of two business empires S.M. Faliq Nasimuddin and Chryseis Tan tied the knot today, a perfect culmination of their tales of romance that were followed by many on social media since last year.

Faliq, who is the youngest son of the founder of the Naza Group, the late SM Nasimuddin SM Amin, and Tan who is the eldest daughter of Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, the founder of the Berjaya Group, were united in an intimate ceremony at the Chateau Bukit Tinggi in Bentong, Pahang.

The beautiful couple was said to be friends when studying at an international school and was reportedly engaged on July 2 when the 33-year-old Faliq proposed to Tan, 30, when they were both on vacation in Marrakesh, Morocco.

From the wedding photos uploaded by Faliq’s younger sister, Nadia Nasimmudin on her Instagram, they showed the couple being pronounced husband and wife after an ‘akad nikah’ (solemnisation of marriage) with RM1,000 dowry.

Meanwhile, Faliq’s brother SM Faisal through his Instagram posting congratulated the lovebirds.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), the family is getting bigger! Congrats you both,” said S.M. Faisal.

The photo received 8,000 likes after being uploaded for three hours and inundated with thousands of congratulatory messages from SM Faisal’s followers.

Faliq is Naza TDDI deputy executive chairman and group managing director, while Tan, is the chief executive officer of Berjaya Times Square.

Faliq’s father, S.M. Nasimuddin established the Naza Group in the 80’s and contributed to the development of the automotive, construction and property sectors in the country, while Tan’s father is a well-known millionaire who set up various types of businesses through the Berjaya Group. - Bernama
