Retract and apologise or get sued, Azeez tells Guan Eng
Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim has given Lim Guan Eng four days to retract and publicly apologise for Lim’s statement linking him to the controversial Penang undersea tunnel project.
The Umno lawmaker said Lim has four days to publish his apology in mainstream newspapers, news channels and online portals, failing which the Penang chief minister would be dragged to court for defamation.
"I have instructed my lawyer to send two letters of demand to Lim, which were sent to Lim's office about 3.40pm and to his Jalan Pinhorn bungalow in Penang at 4.30pm, yesterday.
"This is the proof that his (Lim's office) has received the letters," Azeez told a press conference in Parliament today, holding up a copy of the said documents...

Azeez was referring to Lim's recent query on why the MACC has not arrested Azeez for allegedly receiving millions of ringgit in consultancy fees for the state's undersea tunnel project.
Azeez had earlier been named as having received RM3 million from the tunnel contractor Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd for "consultancy work", but the company has since withdrawn the letter of demand sent to him on Feb 24, over "inaction" to carry out the work promised.
According to Azeez, Lim (photo) had, when talking about the issue, questioned whether Azeez was fit to head Tabung Haji, and asked whether Umno had received the money.
"Lim has four days to retract and apologise for all his statements against me, Umno, Tabung Haji and the people of Baling," he said.
Yesterday, Lim reportedly asked MACC to arrest Azeez in a TV3 news report, over the alleged RM3 million payout.
"Guan Eng showed my face (on TV), as if I'm a big criminal, asking the MACC to arrest me, and asked if they are yet to arrest me because I'm the Baling MP.
"Don't link Tabung Haji, which has nine million depositors, and Umno, which has three million members.
"All of them do not know why I have been slandered and why Tabung Haji and Umno have been dragged into the matter. I received 800 phone calls since the news report was broadcast on TV3 yesterday, until today morning," Azeez claimed.
