Report: Police hunting two suspects for slashing wife with a machete

Police are on the lookout for two men who are believed to have assaulted a woman with a machete this morning, according to media reports.

A two-and-half-minute video of the incident in Taman Perindustrian Klang Jaya had gone viral on social media platforms this morning. It depicts two men beating and slashing the woman before dragging her into a blue car, while bystanders could be heard screaming at them.

According to Guang Ming Daily, the assailants were the victim’s husband and an accomplice, and the former was believed to be in a fit of jealousy. The incident reportedly took place at about 9am.

The report quoted South Klang Shamsul Amar Ramli confirming the incident and said police had received a report from the victim’s daughter.

The case is being handled by the Selangor CID’s serious crime unit and ‘wanted’ notices had been issued for the two suspects.

Guang Ming Daily also reported that the victim sustained over ten slashes to her back, abdomen, legs, and other parts, and that she had been admitted to hospital for treatment.
