Chef Wan denies cooking up support for Harapan

GE14 | Celebrity chef Redzuawan Ismail, better known as Chef Wan, has denied campaigning for Pakatan Harapan candidates in Penang.
This came after video showing him attending a cooking demonstration in Bukit Mertajam with Harapan candidates appeared on Sin Chew Daily’s Facebook page today.
However, Redzuawan told Malaysiakini that the event does not has any political meaning at all,
"I attended a cooking event (held by) Wanita Umno at Baling too," he said.
Redzuawan maintained that he conducted such demonstrations to foot the bills for his house mortgage and other expenses.
The cooking event, which was held Bukit Mertajam Recreational Forest, was also attended by Harapan candidates for Bukit Mertajam and Machang Bubuk, Steven Sim and Lee Khai Loon.
The images of both candidates were displayed on the backdrop behind Redzuawan.
The chef was also quoted by Sin Chew Daily as saying he is campaigning for justice.
