Hours after Musa Aman is sworn-in as the chief minister, the state government now appears to be on the brink of collapse.

Parti Warisan Sabah president Mohd Shafie Apdal and five Sabah BN assemblypersons are seeking an audience with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Juhar Mahiruddin.

According to sources close to Shafie, this is to inform that the five are switching parties.

The Sabah BN representatives consist of two Umno state assemblypersons and three from the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko).

As such, although Sabah BN leader Musa Aman was sworn in a chief minister last night, the state government appeared to be on the brink of collapse.

The two Sabah BN state assemblypersons - Sebatik and Tanjong Batu assemblypersons Abdul Muis Picho and Hamisah Samat - had a closed-door meeting with Shafie this afternoon.

Declining to confirm if the two had quit BN, Warisan Youth chief Mohd Azis Jamman, however, claimed that several state assemblypersons were already at the Yang di-Pertua Negeri’s palace.

“Just wait for the announcement but we have more than enough (representatives) to form the new state government.

“The current government is a fake one,” he said.

Sabah BN won 29 state seats in the 14th general election, the same number of seats won collectively by Warisan and its electoral partners DAP and PKR.

However, after Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) decided to cooperate with BN, the latter gained two more seats, thereby enabling it to form a state government with a simple majority.

However, if the five Sabah BN leaders leave the coalition, the electoral pact comprising Warisan, PKR and the DAP would have 34 seats.
