The police have seized handbags and presents during a marathon search operation at former premier Najib Abdul Razak's residence at Jalan Langgak Duta, Kuala Lumpur.
According to the former premier's lawyer Harpal Singh Grewal, no documents were confiscated.
“Just personal possessions, a couple of handbags and presents," he told reporters who were waiting outside the residence during the operation, which at the time of writing, crossed the six-hour mark.
In total, Harpal said three to four boxes of personal items were seized.
He added that the search was time-consuming due to the size of the bungalow and that police checked all the rooms.
Although the police did not state under which legislation Najib was being investigated, the lawyer believed that it could be related to money laundering.
"Datuk Seri (Najib) and his family cooperated with them (police) and they (police) acted professionally.
“We believe the investigation is under the Anti-Money Laundering Act," he added.
Harpal (photo) also said the police did not inform as to when Najib might be called in for questioning.

Police had initiated the search at Najib's home at around 10.15pm after arriving in dozens of cars and a Black Maria truck, which is often used to transport detainees.
This triggered widespread speculation that the former premier might be arrested.
It was later learned that the truck was used to transport evidence boxes.
A source close to the former prime minister slammed the police search into the wee hours of the morning as uncalled for.
Besides the home in Jalan Langgak Duta, Star Online reported that the police were conducting simultaneous searches at five locations, including the Prime Minister's Office.
Bernama reported that “tens of police officers” were spotted at the upscale Pavilion Residences. It is said that one or more units are owned by Najib's relatives.
On Sunday, the police disclosed that CCTV footage of the Pavilion Residences was reviewed after a report was lodged.
The report had alleged that a government vehicle delivered dozens of boxes of designer handbags and other items to the condominium for Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor.
