Citizen's Declaration coordinator Khairuddin Abu Hassan is considering dropping his suit against ex-premier Najib Abdul Razak and his former deputy Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for breaking their oath of office with regards to 1MDB, in light of the change in government.

This was revealed by lawyer Damien Chan for Khairuddin after case management to the pink diamond case.

He said that they also mentioned Khairuddin's suit against Najib and Zahid today.

The suit had initially been fixed for tomorrow following Najib and Zahid's application to expunge Singaporean 1MDB court documents regarding the trial of former banker Yeo Jiawei.

"We told the judge that Khairuddin is considering withdrawing the suit in light of the change and recent developments over the new government," he said.

Following that, Justice Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim has fixed June 21 for case management of this matter.

It was reported last February that tomorrow is fixed for the hearing of Najib and Zahid's application to expunge the documents which were used in Yeo's case.

The former Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief had been seeking a court declaration that Najib and Zahid had violated their oaths under the Sixth Schedule of the Federal Constitution and were therefore unfit to hold their respective posts or any position in the cabinet.

In his statement of claim, Khairuddin alleged that sometime in March 2013, a sum of US$681 million from 1MDB was deposited into Najib's bank accounts. However, the prime minister had, on various occasions, said the money came from an Arab donor.

Khairuddin claimed that the statement that the money came from an Arab donor was false, and that the money had come from Tanore Corporation Finance, a company controlled by businessperson Low Taek Jho, who he claimed was Najib's agent.

Zahid had told the Dewan Rakyat, sometime in August 2015, that he had met the Arab donor or donors of the sum handed to Najib.

Hence, Khairuddin claimed that Zahid similarly violated the oath he had taken.
