Mohd Isa Abdul Samad has tendered his resignation as the Land Public Transport Commission (Spad) chairperson.
This was confirmed by Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who said that Isa sent in his resignation letter two days ago.
“Isa has resigned, effective immediately,” he said during a press conference at the Transport Ministry in Putrajaya today.
Loke was responding to a question from a reporter regarding this issue.
Last Wednesday, the minister had given Isa one week to resign as Spad chairperson.
“I hope that as a former minister, he can do the honourable thing and resign,” he had said.
Previously, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had announced that Spad will be abolished and that its responsibilities taken over by the Transport Ministry.
