KL police launches 'Team Ninja' to improve patrol operations

Kuala Lumpur Police today launched its special Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) dubbed “Team Ninja” who will be using high-powered Kawasaki Scrambler KLX 250 motorcycles to improve their patrol operations.

“Sometimes the motorcycles used by the usual URB could not enter certain narrow lanes, but our Team Ninja is using Kawasaki Scrambler which is lighter and easy to give chase to criminals,” City Police chief Mazlan Lazim said after launching the team at Jalan Esfahan, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.

At the event, he also distributed iftar meals to the public and members of security forces on duty.

Mazlan also launched the city-level Ops Selamat, which would see 199 traffic personnel, including 14 officers, be stationed at 10 accident hotspots in the city.

The hotspots are at Jalan Kepong, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Ampang, Lebuhraya Seremban, Jalan Sentul, Middle Ring Road (MRR2), Jalan Connought and Jalan Sungai Besi.
