Businessperson Low Taek Jho is believed to be using a passport from another country to travel after the Immigration Department cancelled his passport last month, says director-general Mustafar Ali.
“Right now, he is probably using another passport he might have,” Mustafar told reporters at his office today.
Low’s passport was cancelled by the Immigration Department on June 15 following a request from the MACC in relation to their investigations into the 1MDB scandal.
When asked which country's passport is used by Jho Low now, Mustafar said: “I don’t know.”
According to media reports, the police sent a team to take Jho Low back from Hong Kong, but found upon arrival that he had fled to Macau.
