Langkawi Nature Park denies shooting chimp amid Perhilitan probe

The owner of the Langkawi Nature Park has clarified that the death of its chimpanzee Sumomo was caused by a medical condition and not by a shooting, as previously alleged.

In an email to Malaysiakini, Sentoria Group Bhd said the shooting claim was “not true and false.”

“The death was due to chronic renal failure, and all related technical reports have been forwarded to the investigation team from the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan),” a company representative said...
