Outgoing PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today confirmed that a parliamentary seat will be vacated to pave the way for Anwar Ibrahim to contest.
Wan Azizah said, however, when and where the seat concerned would be vacated for the PKR president-elect could not be announced at present.
"I think it is not yet announced. God willing, some of our elected representatives have offered to vacate their seats to enable Anwar to contest," she told reporters after launching the National Welfare Foundation Palestine People’s Fund campaign here today.
Last night, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli revealed that an MP would vacate a parliamentary seat next week to enable Anwar to contest.
Meanwhile asked on the statement by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad about his dissatisfaction with cabinet ministers, the deputy prime minister said it was a reminder for them to better discharge their duties.
