After flaking out from two by-elections, Parti Rakyat Malaysia now says that it may contest in Port Dickson.

PRM president Mohd Hashim Saaludin said the party has three possible candidates which it will mull over before making an announcement.

"Whether PRM can win or not is not the main issue, but what is important is that PRM will raise the people's issues such as the rise in the price of goods, welfare, and economic stability.

"PRM is not afraid of defeat because win or lose we are an opposition with honour and will always defend the people's rights," Saaludin said at a press conference in Penang today.

He added that PRM wants to contest in the by-election to remind the Pakatan Harapan government to fulfil its promises.

Previously PRM had said that it would contest in the Sungai Kandis and Balakong by-elections.

However, their candidate in Sungai Kandis pulled out at the last minute, while no candidate from the party showed up on nomination day in Balakong.

PRM had performed poorly in the 14th general election, with all 18 of its candidates losing their deposits.
