PKR assemblyperson Mohamad Nazaruddin Sabtu is battling a "mysterious illness" and his aide reveals a supernatural twist.

"We have referred him to the hospital for treatment and doctors have told us that he is stressed.

"However, we referred him for traditional treatment at five places and, surprisingly, we were told he may be a victim of black magic," Aminuddin Mohamed Yunus was quoted as saying by The Star.

According to the special officer, the Pilah assemblyperson fell ill shortly after the May 9 general election.

He said Mohamad Nazaruddin was unable to eat but his appetite improved after receiving traditional treatment.

The 62-year-old Negeri Sembilan state exco in charge of arts, culture, and Malay traditions, has reportedly been missing from official functions and did not attend the recent state assembly sitting.

An officer has been appointed to run his service centre in Kuala Pilah, which will be operational next month.

Due to his illness, Mohamad Nazaruddin also did not contest in the PKR elections. He was previously the party's Kuala Pilah deputy division chief.

In GE14, Mohamad Nazarudin defeated incumbent BN assemblyperson Norhayati Omar with a 1,806 vote majority in a three-cornered fight which also featured PAS.
