The police's Anti-Money Laundering Investigation Force today questioned Rosmah Mansor and her two sons, Norashman and Riza Aziz, for three-and-a-half hours in relation to seized items and jewellery.

A police source told Malaysiakini that the trio left Menara KPJ about 1pm.

"All three were questioned on the items and jewellery seized at properties linked to (former prime minister) Najib (Abdul Razak). They were to state where and how they got them," the source said.

He added that police so far have no plan yet to ask the family to return to Menara KPJ.

The trio evaded members of the media, who were waiting at the lobby of the building, by departing from the complex through the carpark on a higher floor.

When they arrived at Menara KPJ at 9.40am, they stayed tight-lipped when reporters asked them to comment on their presence.

Rosmah, Norashman dan Riza were accompanied by legal counsel Revin Kumar and Iskandar Shah Ibrahim to give their statements to police today.

Revin, of Geethan Ram Advocates and Solicitors law firm, when contacted confirmed that the trio spent about three hours with the investigators before leaving at about 1pm.

However, the lawyer declined to disclose what Rosmah and her sons were questioned about.

Malaysiakini earlier reported that the trio would be interrogated today on the ownership and purchase of jewellery seized from properties linked to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak in May, in connection with the 1MDB investigation.

In June, Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Amar Singh revealed that in their investigations into 1MDB, the police had seized jewellery items worth RM440 million from the Najib-linked properties.

These included 1,400 necklaces, 2,200 rings, 2,100 bangles, 2,800 earrings, 1,600 brooches and 14 tiaras.

Other than that, police also seized 567 handbags worth more than RM51.3 million, 423 watches and 234 sunglasses valued at RM79 million and RM374,000 in cash.

On Oct 4, Rosmah was slapped with a total of 17 charges, comprising 12 counts of money laundering involving RM7,097,750 and five counts for failing to declare her income to the Inland Revenue Board.

Last month, Najib claimed trial to 25 charges of graft and money laundering in relation to transactions amounting to RM2.3 billion, which are believed to be linked to 1MDB.
