Hadi questions Guan Eng's morals after K'tan debt appeal revelation

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang says Lim Guan Eng's decision to reveal the Kelantan government's request for aid showed that the finance minister's morals were "not good".

This, he said, is because the letter to Putrajaya from the state government requesting a loan to help with its debts was meant to be confidential.

"In terms of practice and character, his morals are not good. Even we do not reveal his secrets," he was quoted as saying by Harakahdaily.

On Oct 22, Lim had told the Dewan Rakyat that the Kelantan government could not afford to pay the salaries of its civil servants.

This riled up PAS lawmakers, who accused Lim of misleading the House.

On Wednesday, Lim then revealed a letter from the Kelantan government asking for financial assistance totalling RM24.5 million.

The letter cited concerns that the state government would not be able to pay the salaries and emoluments of its civil servants.

Lim said the federal government granted the request for help as it involved those in public service.
