PKR POLLS | PKR's political bureau members in its meeting tonight should make the "right decision" to call for an investigation over allegations of missing votes in the party's ongoing elections, according to a group of PKR MPs aligned to deputy president contender Rafizi Ramli.

PKR youth chief contender Akmal Nasir said while they had no intentions to further delay the voting process, a fair deliberation must be made by the leaders based on findings which they had submitted.

"In terms of any decision, we will accept them as is. But in our view, please be fair, before the political bureau makes any decision tonight.

"Our intention is for this matter to be presented as facts and for them (political bureau) to make a decision," said the Johor Bahru MP during a press conference at the Parliament lobby.

Akmal said this when asked for response to PKR president elect Anwar Ibrahim's reported statement yesterday that any decisions related to the party polls should be left in the hands of its political bureau and the elections committee (JPP).

Also present were Kapar MP Abdullah Sani, Subang MP Wong Chen, Tanjong Malim MP Chang Lih Kang, Sungai Siput MP S Kesavan and Tangga Batu MP Dr Rusnah Aluai - all of whom are contenders for various positions in the ongoing PKR polls.

Akmal further said that their only dispute was over how votes from the party's election are going missing in a "systematic and planned" manner.

"To me this matter should be raised so that the political bureau tonight could make the best decision, which takes into account our views," he said.

'Get the results audited before it is released'

Wong meanwhile said the party leaders should appoint an independent and globally recognised company to audit the results before any official announcement is to be made.

"They should come in and have a look at the basic statistics, and do some basic inquiry before we announce the actual result because the credibility of the party is important," he argued.

"At the very least for our party is to regain back our credibility, it has been a very long process and I’m tired, everybody is tired.

"So let’s see whether we can do it properly, we will appeal to the leadership, they are meeting tonight and let’s hope to get, at least some results that will restore our image as a clean transparent party," he said.

In echoing the calls, Abdullah also took a swipe at several PKR leaders who had announced their victories prior to an official confirmation from the JPP.

"I urge the political bureau to make a decision that would ensure the party's reputation and stature is restored," he said.

Full results for all contested positions in the party polls are expected to be announced at the PKR annual congress this weekend.
