PKR POLLS | A PKR member contesting for a divisional post in Sarawak lodged a report with MACC today alleging conspiracy in the party's election.

Petrajaya PKR division chief candidate Iswardy Morni, who lodged the report at the graftbuster's headquarters in Putrajaya, claimed that he had lost with a slim majority after the party central election committee changed the polling date for the division at the eleventh hour.

He claimed that many of his supporters were not able to cast their votes when the committee moved the polling from Nov 10 to Nov 11.

"I received a notice on Oct 28 that the polling day for Petrajaya division would be held on Nov 10, and thus I informed our voters, around 1,580 people, to go out to vote that day.

"On Nov 7, I received another notice saying that the date had been postponed to Nov 11, following which I protested, as it is a short notice," he told reporters when met after lodging the report this afternoon.

"The next day, a decision was made (by the election committee) that the election would be held on the 10th, a decision I am satisfied with. However, on Nov 9, the date was once again changed, although the date remained unchanged on the party website.

"On Nov 10, my supporters and I went ahead to the election centre as I had received confirmation from the committee that it would be held on that date. But, there was no one from the committee present."

Iswardy, who noted that he is aligned to PKR deputy presidential candidate Rafizi Ramli, said that the election committee made an unfair decision, as many of his voters could not turn up on the postponed date due to the short notice.

He said the vote count shows that he lost to incumbent Petrajaya PKR chief Baharuddin Mohsen by 32 votes.

Iswardy said he believed that the decision to postpone the election date also seemed like an attempt to "affect" the voting process.

"It is as if there is a conspiracy against me. That is why I am here today, to have action taken."

Iswardy said he had also lodged a police report on the issue, besides filing complaints with the party.
