The driver who rammed into patrons outside a restaurant in Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan last night, and fled the scene, has been arrested.

Serdang district police chief Ismadi Borhan said the man, a Sarawakian, was arrested at around 1.43am, according to the New Straits Times.

"The driver, a Sarawakian, has been arrested. He was tested negative for drugs and police have taken his blood sample for an alcohol test," he was quoted as saying.

The driver abandoned his vehicle 3km away from the site of the incident.

Ismadi said the driver was remanded at the Petaling Jaya court this morning.

Five people were hit by the driver's Isuzu along Jalan Equine 9B at around 8pm yesterday.

A 57-year-old woman was killed while four others were injured.
