The prime minister's official residence - Seri Perdana - is now open to the public, six days a week.

According to the official Seri Perdana website, the building “belongs to the people” and therefore it is open to the public.

The people will have access to the Protocol Bloc and Banquet Bloc.

Guided tours are held from Monday to Thursday and bookings must be made at least seven days in advance.

The facility will only be closed to the public on Fridays, public holidays or when the facility is needed for official functions.

Visitors are required to be properly dressed and bring along their identification documents, such as an identity card or passport.

They are also forbidden from making any recordings while inside the building.

For more information, visit www.seriperdana.gov.my.

Seri Perdana was completed in 1997 and featured a mixture of Malay, Islamic and European design ideas.
