Putrajaya wants to widen the use of cashless payment systems as this would help hinder corruption and in turn help reduce the rakyat's cost of living, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.

Mahathir elaborated that every financial transaction through a cashless system would be recorded, enabling authorities to track down those who commit corruption.
