PAS urges cops to film provocateurs at rally, take immediate action

Tuan Ibrahim was commenting on the security aspect of the rally, which is to celebrate the government's decision not to ratify the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Icerd).
He said PAS would also mobilise some 1,000 members of its Unit Amal to provide security at the rally.
PAS' ally Umno has also pledged to deploy 3,000 Umno Youth members to keep the peace.
The rally – organised by several Muslim NGOs, and backed by Umno and PAS – received the greenlight from police and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) yesterday.
It would be confined to Jalan Raja, in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Dataran Merdeka.
Tuan Ibrahim thanked police and DBKL for the approval.
The rally was originally planned as a protest to pressure the government against ratifying Icerd.
Those opposed to Icerd claim that it is incompatible with the Federal Constitution's provisions for bumiputera special privileges.
