Don't compare Amanah to PAS anymore, says Mujahid

AMANAH AGM | Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa stressed today that his party no longer has anything to do with PAS, and comparisons between the two parties should therefore not arise. 

"We are not competing with PAS. PAS does not have anything to do with us now. We are only competing to carry Pakatan Harapan's new narrative," he said during his winding-up speech at the Amanah convention in Ipoh.

Mujahid reiterated his stance when speaking to reporters after the convention.

"What Amanah is doing now is carrying the new narrative.

"If the competition is about who is more Malay, or more Muslim, I think that is not our (playing field), and we do not wish to compete on that matter," he added.

Mujahid, the de facto Islamic affairs minister, further warned Amanah members to not discriminate against their non-Muslim counterparts.

"They are also Amanah members, they have the right to voice out their opinions. Don't ever think that they are 'second class citizens' in the party.

"I warn whomever that thinks they (the non-Muslims) do not have rights in the party because they are not Muslims, you better watch out. You don't deserve to be an Amanah member," he cautioned.
