Sivarraajh lodges MACC report against DAP over 'vote buying'

Sivarraajh – whose disqualification over money politics in the 14th general election led to the by-election for the parliamentary seat – said the report was lodged in order to uphold justice.

Sivarraajh – whose disqualification over money politics in the 14th general election led to the by-election for the parliamentary seat – said the report was lodged in order to uphold justice.
"I am not seeking revenge against anyone. Even though I was victimised, I have no intention of seeking revenge on DAP.
"My report is general. We have received many complaints from the people saying there was corruption in GE14 and the by-election in Cameron Highlands," he told reporters after lodging the report at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya recently.
Previously, photographs emerged showing money being handed out to people in Pakatan Harapan Cameron Highlands T-shirts.
Harapan leaders, including Manogaran, said the photograph merely shows campaign volunteers being reimbursed for their petrol expenses, and that doing so is not in violation of election laws.
However, critics cited the ruling delivered against Sivarraajh by Election Court judge Justice Azizah Nawawi, which said petrol money was considered bribery.
"It is no matter that the money was given as 'duit rokok' (cigarette money) or 'duit minyak' (petrol money) as it constitutes bribery,” the judge had said.
