Slain Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu wanted to meet with former lover Abdul Razak Baginda in Malaysia over her son's health, her father claimed.
Detailing their last meeting together, Shaariibuu Setev said he had asked his daughter why she was going to Malaysia so often, and if it was because of someone.
"She told me she was in a relationship with a 'big' man in Malaysia and his name was (Razak) Baginda.
"She said the trip was important to her because she wanted to arrange treatment for her son," Shaariibuu told the High Court in Shah Alam today.
Altantuya's youngest son, Altanshagai Munkhtulga, was born with cerebral palsy and was disabled from a young age.
He died at the age of 15 in 2017.
Altantuya's cousin Burmaa Oyunchimeg previously claimed Razak Baginda had told her that he "knew about her disabled son and really wanted to help her financially".
However, Burmaa (photo) testified on Wednesday that Altantuya had gone to Malaysia in Oct 2006 to seek payment from Razak Baginda for unpaid translation work.
Previously in her 2007 murder trial, it was revealed that Altantuya had sought US$500,000 from Razak Baginda while causing a commotion outside his house.
Meanwhile, in his testimony, Shaariibuu said after Altantuya left for Malaysia, he had found several items which Razak Baginda had given her.
These included flight tickets dated March 23, 2005, and a March 4, 2005 receipt for RM11,300 in jewellery purchased from a famous Malaysian jeweler.
He also found a March 2, 2006 letter signed by Altantuya acknowledging that she had received US$18,000 from Razak Baginda.
The RM100 million civil suit was filed by Altantuya's family in 2007, a year after her death.
Police commandoes Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar were found guilty of Altantuya's murder by the Federal Court in January 2015 and sentenced to death.
Razak Baginda, who was a confidante of then deputy prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, was accused of abetting the two former police officers in her murder. However, he was eventually acquitted.
The trial resumes on Monday with continued testimony from Shaariibuu.
Baginda says blackmail but did he report that to the police? Probably to protect the Chief Crook Najib so that his baby was not exposed necessitating a C4 job. Only logic using his own bodyguards as executioners when Altantuya probably threatened to go to the press if money unpaid then.
Somehow somewhere the photo will turn up. Just wait and see.
Is the Court of Malaysia really able to send someone(S) to death for murder without questioning their motive for carrying out the act? Just can't figure that out.
