Kelantan Bersatu accepts the appointment of Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali as chairperson of the state action council.

According to state Bersatu chief Kamaruddin Mohd Noor, there is no need to further debate Azmin's appointment, as the decision was made by the Pakatan Harapan leadership.
"Our stand is simple. We accept decisions made by the government or the cabinet. What is important to us is that the agency plays a role to assist people in Kelantan," Kamaruddin told Malaysiakini today.
"What is also important is to ensure that the development projects that benefit the people can be continued in a good way.
"The question of who is appointed by the prime minister to lead the agency, we leave that to his wisdom and discretion... I don't think the decision needs to be debated further."
Last Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that Azmin was appointed to head the Kelantan chapter of the body responsible for ensuring that decisions made by the National Action Council (MTN) are implemented at the state level.
Following the announcement, Kelantan Amanah voiced its dissatisfaction, arguing that it should be given the chance to lead as the dominant Harapan component in the state.
While noting that Amanah had the right to express its views, Kamaruddin (photo) stressed that the decision would have been consented to by all central Harapan leaders.
"So why the need for further questions by leaders at the lower levels?" he asked.
'No objection'
Similarly, Kelantan PKR said it has no objection to Azmin's appointment, despite conceding there is a need to take into account the views of local state leaders.
State PKR chief Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor said all parties should welcome the appointment.
"I'm not saying that Azmin is the right person, but we need to accept and support anyone (appointed).
"The issue (who is appointed) does not arise, because what is most important is that the people of Kelantan get to enjoy development," he said.
In announcing Azmin's appointment, effective from Jan 1, the PMO said that it displayed Putrajaya's commitment to boosting development in Kelantan.
It added that the state is among those given priority in the distribution of development allocations, as set out in the Mid-Term Review of the 11th Malaysia Plan.
