Uncle Kentang wants some leeway from EC to help the needy

Speaking to reporters after visiting Azman Ali who is suffering from heart ailment, Kuan said he had the ability to render help immediately but could not do so because of election rules.

Speaking to reporters after visiting Azman Ali who is suffering from heart ailment, Kuan said he had the ability to render help immediately but could not do so because of election rules.
"He is in bad shape. Are we not endangering him? I can make a phone call now (to my friends) to bring a suction pump but I can't.
"I have access to funding. I have friends that can donate, but we can't. (The rules state) we have to wait until March 3. He might die by then," said Kuan who is better known as "Uncle Kentang".
Kuan, a social worker and activist, visited Azman at the Beranang health clinic quarters this morning. Azman was formerly a clinic staff but his poor health has left him bed-ridden.
Some of the medical personnel that Kuan brought along checked on Azman who is a Semenyih voter.
When asked about several posts on his social media account which suggested that he had been handing out school uniforms to the needy and who were not voters, Kuan said he didn't care if this got him disqualified.
Kuan said his work as an activist would continue regardless of whether or not he is elected as a lawmaker.
"I am not even campaigning for this election. I won the hearts of people a long time ago.
"Our campaign (as activists) is a lifelong mission, not just for elections," he said.
