The pro-Islam Gerakan Pembela Ummah (Ummah) NGO has urged the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay Rulers' Council to sack Tommy Thomas as the attorney-general.

The group's spokesperson Kamaruzaman Mohamad claimed this was necessary because the country needed an attorney-general who was "more sensitive" towards preserving the sanctity of Islam.
