Lim, who is also the finance minister, said he has spoken to Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu on the matter.
"I have also asked Perak DAP to handle the matter and provide me with a report," he said.
Yong (photo), the Tronoh assemblyperson, has denied wrongdoing.
He was briefly detained by police on Tuesday when he presented himself at the Jelapang police station, but has since been released on bail.
The alleged victim has undergone a medical examination and is now placed in a safe house.
Following the investigation, the swearing-in ceremony for the Perak executive council was indefinitely postponed by the state palace.

Meanwhile, Wanita MCA chief Heng Seai Kie called for Yong's immediate suspension from his exco duties.
"The Perak exco from DAP, arrested to assist in investigations of having sexually assaulted his Indonesian domestic helper, should either go leave or be suspended by the Perak menteri besar pending a full investigation," she said in a statement.
Heng also lauded the police's swift action in arresting Yong, pointing out that the allegation against him was serious.
Echoing this was MIC Youth council member A Sri Murugan, who called for Yong to be suspended pending the investigation.
"If the allegations against him are proven true, he should also vacate his state seat," he said.
In a related report, Oriental Daily quoted Yong's lawyer and Malim Nawar assemblyperson Leong Cheok Keng, as saying that there is no need for Yong to go on leave.
