After meeting Anwar, Azmin to open PKR Youth, Women wings' congress
PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali will open both the party's Youth and Women's wings congress in Melaka tomorrow, according to PKR communication director Fahmi Fadzil.
"We have discussed among other preparations for the congress and I can inform you all here that both the PKR Youth and Women's wings will be officiated by Azmin tomorrow.
"Meanwhile, both the congress will be closed by the Deputy Prime Minister (Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail)," Fahmi told reporters after a special PKR political bureau meeting in parliament this evening...

It was previously decided that Azmin Ali will officiate the Women wing’s congress while Wan Azizah will open its Youth wing’s congress.
This came after PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasir rescinded Azmin’s invitation and instead asked Wan Azizah, as the party’s highest-ranking government official, to open its congress.
The meeting this evening was attended by Azmin together with a group of elected PKR central leadership council leaders.
This marks the first time Azmin had attended a formal party meeting in over a year, fueling mounting speculations of a rift between him and party president Anwar Ibrahim, ahead of the congress this weekend.
On Twitter, Azmin shared a photo of him with Anwar, and implied their discussions were meant to strengthen party unity.
"With open discussions, any problem can be resolved," he said.
Fahmi today confirmed that Azmin and other party leaders had committed to attend the congress.
"All the leadership will be present, except those with official duties overseas.
"InsyaAllah this year's congress will show our united strength," he said.
"We will get views from all the leaders and we will be able to see the party's future direction," he added.
Anwar earlier chaired a PKR political bureau meeting, while Azmin similarly met with his group of allied leaders.
"The MPP elected during the party's congress last year and I will be meeting with Anwar now.
"We will be discussing the party's status and preparations for the upcoming congress starting tomorrow night until Sunday," Azmin told reporters in parliament earlier.
"We will also discuss a few other important matters, and I would like to state that myself and the (elected) leadership will attend the congress," he said.
Quizzed on whether he was referring to the official congress in Melaka or the rumoured gathering at Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur, PKR vice-president Tian Chua instead responded, "There is only one congress."
PKR leaders seen with Azmin included Zuraida Kamaruddin, Rashid Hasnon, Amirudin Shari, R Sivarasa and Elizabeth Wong.
Held in Malacca this year, this week’s congress will mark the party’s 20th anniversary, with the Women’s congress slated to start tomorrow while its Youth congress will begin the next day.
The national congress will begin on Dec 7.
