Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob has expressed hope that the new cabinet line-up to be appointed by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin will not include individuals who are involved in corruption or facing charges.
"That we agree with, for there to be no individuals involved with corruption.
"We must have integrity," Ahmad (above) told reporters in Kota Bharu when asked on his hope for the new cabinet.
Muhyiddin was appointed prime minister last week after securing the support of lawmakers from Bersatu, Umno, PAS and GPS.
Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad previously said that he could not cooperate with Umno leaders currently facing corruption charges, while Muhyiddin had indicated openness to accept all Umno MPs.
The Umno leaders facing ongoing corruption trials are Najib Abdul Razak, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Bung Moktar Radin, Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, Mohd Isa Abdul Samad and several others.

They were charged following Pakatan Harapan's victory in the last 14th general election.
Meanwhile, Ahmad said it is premature to speculate on Umno's position as part of Kelantan government, although he added that the matter will be discussed.
"What is most precious is the unity and warm ties (with Umno)... so we will discuss the matter, but it is still too early to comment on it," he said, pointing out that there has so far been no new Perikatan Nasional administration formed at the federal level.
Kelantan Umno state liaison chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub had said yesterday that the party will not demand any positions in the state government, reported Malaysiakini.
Earlier today, the PAS' ulama wing has called on all Malaysians, including Mahathir, to give their full support for Muhyiddin as the eighth prime minister, to fix the country.
