Police in Johor Bahru made a heart tugging discovery yesterday when they approached a couple who were violating the movement control order.
The couple and their toddler had been spotted at a playground in Taman Tampoi Indah by officers on patrol.
Police in Johor Bahru made a heart tugging discovery yesterday when they approached a couple who were violating the movement control order.
The couple and their toddler had been spotted at a playground in Taman Tampoi Indah by officers on patrol.
But when the officers advised them to return home, the wife burst into tears.
"She said they had no money and no more food at home," read a Facebook post by the Johor police.
The officers, Corporal Mohd Hisham Mustafa and Constable Mudrikah Nazirul Nordin, then brought the couple to a grocery store to buy them some groceries.
This included baby formula for the couple's 16-month-old toddler who was said to have been only drinking a mix of Milo and sugar.
According to police, the couple live in a rented room in Taman Tampoi Indah.
The husband had stopped part-time work in Singapore as he did not have a work permit while the wife who is a cleaner in Larkin had been placed on leave.
Johor police thanked Mohd Hisham and Mudrikah for helping the couple.
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to announce an expanded economic stimulus today which he indicated may include benefits for daily wage-earners.
