CORONAVIRUS | Kite flying - Kelantan's most recognisable cultural symbol - is forbidden during the movement control order (MCO) period, but some chose to ignore this restriction and got themselves arrested.
According to Kelantan police chief Hasanuddin Hassan, kite flyers were among the 94 people arrested during the MCO period.
Most of those arrested were from Kota Bharu.
"Among their offences include kite flying, playing football and lepak (hanging out).
"Some of them have been charged in court. I hope the people of Kelantan follow instructions.
"Those who flout the law will be arrested," he said when approached after the Kelantan chapter of the National Security Council met today.
Among those at the meeting were Law Minister Takiyuddin Hassan and Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob.
Hasanuddin said that 96 percent of Kelantanese were complying with the MCO.
"There are still people who are stubborn. We will ramp up surveillance every now and then," he said.
