The Malaysian Bar has urged the courts to give due consideration to all mitigating factors that gave rise to a breach of the movement control order.

Malaysian Bar president Salim Bashir said the call was made following reported accounts of "excessive sentences and cases of disparity in sentencing" between ordinary people and those with influence.
