A police personnel was killed after being run over by a pickup truck at a movement control order (MCO) roadblock in Kajang this morning.
Kajang police chief Mohd Zaid Hassan said Corporal Safwan Muhammad Ismail was manning a roadblock near the Kajang Selatan toll plaza when the incident happened at 3am.
He said driver, who is believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, failed to control his vehicle and crashed into the roadblock.
The 31-year-old victim hailed from Perak.
"The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," Mohd Zaid said in a statement.
It is believed that the victim sustained severe head and bodily injuries and died on the spot.
The victim's body was taken to Serdang Hospital, while the suspect, who is in his 40s, is receiving treatment at the same hospital.
