Abdul Latif appointed new Customs DG
Abdul Latif Abdul Kadir has been appointed the new Customs director-general, effective today.
Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali, when announcing this today, said Abdul Latif (above) replaced Paddy Abd Halim, who went on compulsory retirement.

Abdul Latif, 59, joined the civil service in 1985 as a Customs superintendent and was formerly Customs deputy director-general (Enforcement and Compliance).
Zuki said Abdul Latif, who had also served as a state Customs Department director, had vast experience in enforcement, compliance management, customs and taxation.
“I believe with the experience, knowledge and credibility, Abdul Latif will be able to continue with the Customs Department’s aspirations to achieve world-class customs administration," he added.
Zuki also expressed his appreciation to Paddy for his 37 years of service and contributions as a civil servant.
