Putrajaya announces free electricity for April-June if bill under RM77
Domestic users in peninsular Malaysia would enjoy free electricity for the months of April until June if their consumption for those months were under 300kWh or RM77.

The move came amid complaints of soaring electricity bills during those months as most people were confined to their homes as a result of the movement control order (MCO) to contain the spread of Covid-19.
As for domestic users using more than RM77 a month, Shamsul said they will still enjoy a discount.
Shamsul said they would see a deduction of RM77 of their total bill for each month from April to June.
"Domestic users who use more than 300kWh electricity will receive a discount totalling RM231, which is RM77 a month for April, May and June," he was quoted as saying.
Shamsul said the move would benefit 52.2 percent of all domestic users.
Shamsul said this is an extension of the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik which extends to aid to cover an additional four million domestic users, covering a total of RM7.66 million users.
In March, the government had announced a tiered discount rate for domestic electricity users which would see savings of up to RM120 for six months.
Shamsul added that there would be no electricity disconnection for unpaid bills until September.
Electricity supply in East Malaysia is not supplied by the Tenaga Nasional Berhad, which is primarily owned by government-linked investment entities.
Instead, electricity in East Malaysia is provided by state-owned utility companies, and any measures will be decided by the state governments.
