During BN rally in Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Chini Timur 3 last night, Hamzah's campaign speech said the Perikatan Nasional government was fair to all and resolved long-standing problems.
"There are no longer questions about race, there are no more problems with religion or royalty.
"This administration will defend our struggles fairly and in accordance to the constitution," he said in a short campaign speech in front of the local People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) members.
Hamzah noted that the gathering last night was likely the first time where Bersatu, PAS and Umno leaders were campaigning together.
Formerly a mid-tier Umno leader, Hamzah, 60, has risen to become one of the country's most prominent political figures this year.
He is now a cabinet minister in charge of the powerful Home Ministry and the secretary-general of Bersatu. He is also widely attributed as the architect of the formation of the PN government in March.
In his short speech, Hamzah’s main selling point of the PN government was that it had united Malay parties and that they would not allow "others" to rule again.
He said in the short span of three months, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yasin had managed to unite all the leaders that were present with them in the venue.
Among those present were three of Pahang Umno's biggest names, Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Kuala Krau MP Ismail Mohamed Said.
Hamzah described Ismail Sabri as someone who was qualified to become a future leader of the country, to which the crowd cheered in agreement.
As for PAS, Hamzah said their inclusion in the PN government showed that the country was being managed peacefully.
Speaking to reporters after the event, Hamzah said he had no problems campaigning for an Umno candidate despite having left the party in February 2019.
"My agenda is agama, bangsa dan negara. It doesn't matter which party, my principles are the same. Therefore, I decided to join this campaign.
"If you look at my time in Pakatan Harapan... I've never said anything (that went against my principles)," he said, according to Berita Harian.
During the event, Hamzah urged the Rela members present to support Mohd Sharim Md Zain, BN and Umno's candidate for the Chini by-election.
Rela is a division controlled by the Home Ministry.
