Rukun Negara clubs and secretariats to be rebranded
The National Unity Ministry plans to strengthen the appreciation of the Rukun Negara through the rebranding of Rukun Negara clubs in primary and secondary schools as well as Rukun Negara secretariats at institutions of higher learning.

The National Unity Ministry plans to strengthen the appreciation of the Rukun Negara through the rebranding of Rukun Negara clubs in primary and secondary schools as well as Rukun Negara secretariats at institutions of higher learning.
Minister Halimah Mohamed Sadique (photo, above) said the modules for the clubs and secretariats also needed to be reevaluated to be in line with the current scenario in the country.
She said the clubs should involve all schools including Chinese and Tamil schools and not just focus on national schools.
She said the National Unity Ministry, Communications and Multimedia Ministry, Education Ministry, and the Higher Education Ministry have started discussions to ensure that the principles of Rukun Negara are included in the national education system.
Halimah said this to reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Unity Ministry and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Bangi today.
The memorandum is to focus on updating four documents that are related to the preparation of the National Unity Index, the improvement of the National Unity Action Plan, the implementation of Rukun Negara education based on the Pillars of Unity, and the empowerment of the National Integration Research and Training Institute.
