Five Warisan incumbents dropped to make way for fresh candidates
SABAH POLLS | Five Warisan incumbent state representatives have been dropped as candidates to make way for fresh faces in the upcoming Sabah election.
This includes Moyog incumbent representative and Sabah Assistant Minister for Education and Innovation Jenifer Lasimbang. He appears to have been dropped as a candidate to make way for party deputy president Darell Leiking.

This includes Moyog incumbent representative and Sabah Assistant Minister for Education and Innovation Jenifer Lasimbang. She appears to have been dropped as a candidate to make way for party deputy president Darell Leiking.
In the last election, Lasimbang won Moyog with a 4,442-majority in a seat with 19,456 votes, defeating candidates from Upko, Homeland Solidarity Party (Solidariti) and Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS).
When contacted, Lasimbang declined to comment about this matter at the moment.
Aside from Moyog, the four other seats which have seen the incumbents being passed over for new candidates are Karambunai, Petagas, Pantai Manis and Sekong.
Karambunai incumbent Azhar Matussin, who won the previous election with a 5,366-majority against Umno, PAS and SAPP, will be replaced by Ahmad Jais Otong.
Uda Sulai, who is the Petagas incumbent, won by a razor-thin majority of 208 votes against Umno and Harapan Rakyat. He will be replaced by Awang Ahmad Shah.

The new candidate for Pantai Manis will be Yahiya Awang Kahar, who will replace incumbent Aidi Moktar. Aidi won the last election with a 2,108-majority, defeating Umno, Harapan Rakyat and PCS.
Lastly, in Sekong, incumbent Arifin Asgali, who won with a 2,035-majority against Umno, PAS, Solidariti, Sabah Nationality Party (PKS) and an independent candidate, will not be contesting in the upcoming election.
Instead, Alias Sani is Warisan’s new choice for a candidate in the Sekong seat.
Earlier today, Warisan president Shafie Apdal announced the list of candidates who will be contesting using the Warisan logo, including candidates from DAP and Amanah. Those from Upko and PKR will use their own logos.
Warisan will contest a total of 46 of the 73 state seats, while 12 others will go to Upko.
DAP and PKR will contest seven seats each, whereas Amanah has one seat.
