UPDATED 1.11PM | Husam Musa, who has quit as Amanah vice-president, has denied having a fallout with party president Mohamad Sabu.
Earlier today, Husam was reported as having quit his position as Amanah vice-president, Kelantan Amanah chief and Kelantan Pakatan Harapan chairperson due to problems with Mohamad.
Husam, when contacted, dismissed the report, stating: "It's not true. I deny the content of the article."
Asked to clarify if he was denying a fallout with Mohamad, who is widely known as Mat Sabu, or the fact he had quit as an Amanah vice-president, Husam merely replied: "It's fictitious".
However, in a statement later, Amanah communications director Khalid Samad confirmed Husam's departure as a vice-president but also denied any falling out between Husam and Mat Sabu.
"Any suggestion that he resigned due to dissatisfaction with Mohamad or with any Amanah leader is baseless.
"It is to strengthen Amanah's position in Kelantan, particularly in Kota Bharu," Khalid said in a statement.
He said the party accepted Husam's resignation on Sept 6.
Khalid (above) said Husam's services were still needed at the national level and he has been asked to serve as an adviser to three bureaus of the party.
"The three are the election, communications and strategy bureaus," he said.
Earlier today, The Malaysian Insight, quoting sources, reported that Husam had quit from his party posts except, as Kota Bharu Amanah chief.
Husam, when contacted, also maintained that all was well between Mohamad and himself.
"There is no problem," Husam told Malaysiakini.
Two weeks ago, similar speculation also surfaced about Husam having allegedly quit Amanah to join PKR.
When Malaysiakini contacted Husam then, he had also denied the matter.
