Hard times have fallen on veteran singer M Daud Kilau whose health is deteriorating.
Once known as the "Raja Gelek", the 82-year-old now has mobility problems and is hoping to get aid in the form of an electric wheelchair.
"My health has been deteriorating since having bladder problems from 2016. Besides diabetes, numb feet and hands, I'm also deaf in one ear.
"My heart isn't stable, either. My health is like 50-50. I would be very grateful if there is someone who could help provide me with an (electric) wheelchair.
"If you just want to lend the wheelchair that's okay too, when I am gone you can take it back," Daud told Malaysiakini when contacted.
Daud is currently living at Kampung Sungai Balai Baroh in Bagan Datuk, Perak.
The former dangdut icon said that with an electric wheelchair, he could move about without assistance.
"It will help me go here and there, especially to the surau.
"Right now, at home, I have to be supported to go to the bathroom and I am forced to pray sitting down," he said.
