Deputy Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith said the process requires time to ensure that it is done comprehensively, thus determining any form of action to be taken against the companies involved.
He said such an incident should serve as a lesson to other contractors in ensuring that safety issues involving road users are given the utmost priority.
“This is also aimed at ensuring the prevention of the incident from recurring.
“We will not compromise on the safety of the public, always improving it from time to time,” he told reporters after a working visit and handover of thermal scanners in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan today.
On Sept 19, a woman cheated death after a one-metre square concrete slab from the construction of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway (Suke), fell and hit her car while she was driving along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier, Eddin, who is also Kuala Pilah MP, presented 15 units of KipleLive thermal scanners to schools and public buildings in Kuala Pilah as a measure to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
