COVID-19 | A videographer who was ordered to undergo mandatory quarantine at home a day after attending a press conference by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has tested negative for Covid-19.
Nevertheless, Chow said the videographer still needs to complete the 14-day quarantine period.
“Thus, all individuals at the press conference on Oct 28 are advised to limit their movements outside and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures while at work or in public,” he said in a statement today, reiterating his advice from yesterday.
Chow said he was informed of the test result by the Penang Health Department, which will continue to inform his office of follow-up testing results and further developments on the case.
Previously, it was reported that the videographer was identified as a person under surveillance after a housemate tested positive for Covid-19.
Health Ministry guidelines stipulate that close contacts of confirmed Covid-19 patients must undergo a 14-day quarantine period, which would include everyone who lives in the same residence with them.
They would also undergo Covid-19 tests on the first day and 13th day of their quarantine to ensure they do not have the disease.
