Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari did not violate any quarantine order by visiting a water treatment plant on Oct 4, one week after he arrived from his trip to Sabah.
In a statement today, private secretary and special aide Saifudin Shafi Muhammad said Amirudin's first test for Covid-19 conducted at the KLIA2 on Sept 28 was negative and the result was made known to him on the next day.

In a statement today, private secretary and special aide Saifudin Shafi Muhammad said Amirudin's first test for Covid-19 conducted at the KLIA2 on Sept 28 was negative and the result was made known to him on the next day.
This was in line with Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob's statement where individuals who arrived from Sabah need not observe a full 14-day quarantine order as soon as they are tested negative in their first test, he added.
"Moreover, the menteri besar was given a clearance letter that released him from home surveillance order," he said, adding that Amirudin conducted additional two tests on Oct 4 and Oct 9, which also turned out negative.
"Due to the principle of responsibility, he had conducted self-quarantine as a precaution, and that had gone beyond the conditions set by the Health Ministry.
"It is proper (for us) not to excessively polemise the matter to the extent of increasing the work burden of the police," Saifudin said.
He added that the menteri besar's office received a copy of the investigation paper against Amirudin this morning.
The office assured that Amirudin will give full cooperation to the police to uphold the rule of law.
On Oct 4, Amirudin took to social media to apologise for having to go out from quarantine to solve the river pollution issue.
He was being probed under Section 15 and Section 22(B) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 1988 for not complying to a valid directive issued by any authoritative officer.
