Perak Bersatu still mulling collaboration with Umno
Perak Bersatu has yet to decide on whether to support Umno's bid to form a new state government.

Perak Bersatu has yet to decide on whether to support Umno's bid to form a new state government.
Sources close to the Perak Bersatu leadership said the matter has been left to the wisdom of the party's national leadership.
"I believe that a decision will be made by our secretary-general (Hamzah Zainudin)," said a source who declined to be named.
This development appeared to contradict claims by Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi earlier this morning that the new Perak government will comprise of Umno, Bersatu, and PAS.
Last night, Bersatu's supreme council expressed regret that Umno was involved in Ahmad Faizal Azumu's ouster as Perak menteri besar. Faizal is Bersatu's deputy president.
The council also resolved that Bersatu would seek better ties with PAS.
According to the source, the council had given the impression that Bersatu will not be involved in Umno's bid to form the new state government.
"We don't know the details. Today, Faizal is in the Dewan Rakyat.
"Perhaps the central leadership would decide on the matter today," he added.
It is a race against time to form a new government in Perak as the state's budget for 2021 has yet to be passed and the year's end is approaching.
Perak ruler Sultan Nazrin Shah granted an audience to Zahid earlier today. The ruler is also expected to meet lawmakers from PAS, Bersatu, and Pakatan Harapan to determine which assemblyperson commands the majority in the state assembly to become the next menteri besar.
