UPDATED 9.08PM | List of locations affected by Covid-19 (Feb 2)

Below are verified locations that are reported to be affected today.

RESIDENCES

- Felcra Nasaruddin, Bota, Perak

Felcra Nasaruddin in Bota, Perak Tengah will be placed under a two-week total lockdown from Feb 3 to 16. This came after 28 Covid-19 cases were detected here.

- Felcra Bersia, Hulu Perak, Perak

Felda Bersia in Hulu Perak will be under an enhanced MCO from Feb 3 to 16 after 20 infections were recorded among villagers.

The lockdown will affect residents in Section Two and a portion of those in Section 1.

- Kampung Orang Asli Batu 6, Batang Padang, Perak

The enhanced MCO on this Orang Asli village has been extended to Feb 10.

This was as one positive case remained under isolation while 34 residents had yet to complete their home quarantine periods. The 494-member village has recorded a total of 27 Covid-19 infections thus far.

- Jalan Parit Jamil Darat, Parit Jawa, Muar, Johor

A cluster of cases was detected at a workers' dormitory here, the Health Ministry said.

To date, 189 workers at the linked factory have been screened and 26 have tested positive for Covid-19.

- Taman Semarak and Taman Bersia, Gerik, Perak

A total of 19 cases have been detected at these housing estates so far, the Health Ministry said.

They make up the Semarak Bersia cluster, in which 58 individuals have been screened.

The index case was detected on Jan 21 through contact tracing.

- Taman Muhibbah, Temerloh, Pahang

A resident here is the index case of the Taman Muhibbah cluster involving an unnamed public administration centre in Kuantan, the Health Ministry said.

To date, 14 cases have been detected in this cluster.

The index case was found on Jan 27 through symptomatic screening.

- Felda Redong 2, Segamat, Johor

Former Sekijang MP Anuar Abdul Manap visited homes here to deliver food aid, two days before testing positive for Covid-19.

In photographs, he was mostly wearing a face mask, although there were instances when the mask was lowered while conversing with residents.

- E-Residence Telipok, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

A man who lives at this apartment located near Tuaran was tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 21, 2021.

According to a representative of the apartment management office, the man's wife and a child were also found positive for the virus two days later. Both of them had since been taken to hospital.

The representative said that sanitisation works have been carried out at common areas, and management office staff were also placed under quarantine as precautionary measures.

- Taman Kristal, Lengkok Erskine, Penang

Several residents at this residential complex have tested positive for Covid-19, the joint management body said in a notice to residents dated Jan 31.

Health Ministry personnel will disinfect the affected block, it said in the notice published by China Press.

- Signature Suites and Residences, Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur

The management of this upmarket residential complex issued a notice yesterday saying that an employee of a Volkswagen service centre has tested positive for Covid-19. The service centre is connected with the complex.

In the notice sighted by Malaysiakini, the management said that they are sealing off the automotive centre for disinfection works, while other workers identified as having close contacts with the said employee have also been ordered to quarantine.

All elevators at the Signature have also been sanitised as a precautionary measure.

- Various villages in Kluang, Johor

Paloh assemblyperson Sheikh Omar Ali visited these villages to deliver aid, within two weeks of testing positive of Covid-19 on Feb 1.

The villages are:

- Kampung Gajah (Jan 22)

- Kampung Melayu Gsa Chamek (Jan 26 and 27)

- Kampung Muhibbah Paloh (Jan 24)

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee has released locations visited by Covid-19 patients days before they were diagnosed. These are the latest locations:

  

  

  


OFFICES

- Persatuan Veteran Angkatan Tentera Malaysia, Segamat Division, Johor

Former Sekijang MP Anuar Abdul Manap said he visited this location to deliver food aid to veterans on Jan 23.

On Jan 22, he attended Friday prayers at a mosque, where he had contact with an individual who tested positive for Covid-19, he said.

On Jan 29, Anuar tested positive for Covid-19.

In the photographs of the visit to the veterans' office, he is seen wearing a face mask.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Sungai Besar, Selangor

At least one student has tested positive at this school and is now in quarantine at a quarantine centre in Serdang, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) said in a statement yesterday. 

The student had light symptoms like coughing, it added.

It said the school was sanitised on Jan 29, and denied claims it did not follow standard operating procedures to curb the spread of the virus.

It said symptomatic students were placed in a different block since Jan 24.


MEDICAL FACILITIES

- Tam Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre, Alor Setar, Kedah

A Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner at this clinic, Tan Chouyan, said he tested positive for Covid-19.

He and other staff at the clinic sought testing on Jan 30, after a patient informed them she and her husband tested positive for the virus.

The couple were last at the TCM clinic on Jan 20.

Tan said the other staff at the clinic tested negative.

- Ivory Dental Clinic, The Linc Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur

A dentist at this clinic has been tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday. When contacted today, the person in charge of the clinic Dr Heng Lie Yuen, confirmed the case.

She said the dentist only came on duty on Saturday, and two nurses who were on duty on that day have taken swab tests. Both of them have been found negative of the virus, and are placed under 10-day quarantine.

As precautionary measures, Heng said other staff members of the clinic who were not on duty on Saturday have also taken swab tests, and all have also been found negative.

The clinic has been closed temporarily since yesterday (Monday, Feb 1) for sanitisation, and they plan to conduct another round of deep sanitisation for an extra measure before reopening.


GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

- Baling Land and District Office, Kedah

The office is closed for disinfection until Feb 4 after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

Payments can be made online at the iBayaq website.

- IPD Kluang, Johor

Paloh assemblyperson Sheikh Omar Ali visited the police station on Jan 18, exactly 14 days before he tested positive for Covid-19.

He was there to deliver canopies meant to be set up outside the station to shade those who were waiting their turn to apply for permission to cross districts.

CARE HOMES AND SHELTERS

- Baitus Solehah shelter home, Taman Pulai Utama, Johor Baru, Johor

A total of 38 residents of this shelter home for young mothers have tested positive for Covid-19, the shelter announced.

They have been taken to Kluang Hospital and Hospital Permai Hospital in Johor Baru.

A total of 22 babies were also sent to the hospital with their mothers, while nine mothers and eight babies are awaiting their test results at the shelter. 


FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS

- AVX Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd, Bayan Lepas, Penang

The factory is closed for 10 days and will reopen on Feb 10, after a "high number of Covid-19 positive cases" was detected.

The closure is upon advice of the Health Ministry to allow for deep cleaning to be done, said the factory's human resources department in a notice to workers, published by China Press.

It added that the recent outbreak was traced to an off-site gathering.

The news daily's visit to the factory this morning found it was not operational.


PLACES OF WORSHIP

- Masjid Jamek Abu Ubaidah, Johor

Former Sekijang MP Anuar Abdul Manap tested positive for Covid-19.

He said he attended Friday prayers at this mosque on Jan 23 with 28 others, in keeping with standard operating procedures for places of worship.

He sought testing on Jan 29 after he was informed by a member of the mosque committee that a congregation member was infected with the virus.


OTHERS

- Paloh assemblyperson service centre, Kluang, Johor

Paloh assemblyperson Sheikh Omar Ali was here on Jan 31 to receive aid to be distributed to constituents.

He tested positive for Covid-19 the next day.

In the photographs uploaded on Facebook, he was wearing a face mask.


MARKETS

- Pasar Awam Sentral Paloh, Kluang, Johor

Paloh assemblyperson Sheikh Omar Ali visited the village on Jan 23 to assist in sanitising the public market, nine days before the assemblyperson tested positive for Covid-19.

The team also sanitised the shoplots and playground in that area.

He was wearing a face mask.
