PAS continues to refuse to take sides in the feud between Bersatu and Umno.
Despite Umno already sending divorce papers to Bersatu, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan (photo, above) is confident that there will be a reconciliation and that the "family" bond will remain.
"PAS is very confident, all the differences, disputes, and misunderstanding can be resolved and harmonised by party leaders on the grounds of fraternity and family for the sake of the larger interests of the country and the people," he said in a statement today.
Umno had on Feb 26 sent a letter to Bersatu saying that they would not cooperate with the latter in the 15th general election.
However, Umno will stay part of the Perikatan Nasional Plus government until Parliament is dissolved.
Bersatu, in response, would focus on strengthening its alliances with other parties in the PN coalition.
PAS is a member of the PN coalition but also has chartered an alliance with Umno through Muafakat Nasional.
Takiyuddin said the cooperation of Malay political parties was important for the country's future, and as such, resolved to continue strengthening Muafakat while also defending PN.
"PAS is committed to strengthening the tripartite cooperation of Malay Bumiputera parties Umno, Bersatu and PAS, together with other allies.
"(This is) for the continuity of the administration which has been well received by the majority of the people who don't want dark moments of history to happen again," he said, in reference to Pakatan Harapan's tenure in office.
Takiyuddin said PAS is also committed to combating any political realignments that involve cooperation with Harapan or their allies.

This clown is history soon, Agong should be mightily displeased by Takiyuddin cock and bull reason re covid no parliament. PAS without Umno are DEAD and Bersatu is DEAD anyway at the election
